Dedicated to Lord Krishna, the Ambalapuzha temple is a 15th century temple built by a local ruler. It is one of the seven greatest Vaishnava temples in the erstwhile Travancore region. Palpayasam, a sweet pudding made of rice and milk, is served in the temple as prasadam (a religious offering given to devotees).
