Mussoorie is a charming hill station in Uttarakhand, known for its colonial architecture, heritage churches and stunning surroundings. Nestled in the foothills of the Himalayan mountain ranges, this destination is flooded with tourists throughout the year - and for good reason too! Afterall, the Garhwali region is popular for its treatment of food and utilises unique techniques to whip up finger-licking dishes.

Let’s take a closer look at this cuisine, by glimpsing into Club Mahindra Mussoorie’s signature dining experience - Garhwali Dinner. This meal comprises an authentic and traditional thali that gives one insight into Uttarakhand’s way of life. Like they say, there’s no better way of understanding a culture than by tasting it. We couldn’t agree more, which is why our food is reflective of the land, people and customs. In its essence, Garhwali food is simple, flavourful, filling, nutritious and well balanced. The dishes are made from local and seasonal ingredients that are very easily sourced. Generally, the diet is cereal, or grain based. Millet preparations, pulses, lentils, leafy vegetables, meat and fish are used to cook hearty dishes that are accompanied by flatbreads and rice.  While at our Mussoorie resort, we’d encourage you to try delicacies such as Kulath Phanu – a mixed lentil dish, Kandalee ka Saag – a cottage cheese and leafy vegetable dish, Kaafli – a yam dish and Gulgula – a jaggery based dessert.

With Club Mahindra, you can witness many such magnificent experiences across 100+ resorts in India and abroad! To know more about the Garhwali Dinner, read the Club Mahindra member reviews.
