A holiday at the Club Mahindra resort at Udaipur is nothing but days drenched in regal brilliance. There are many things to do and places to see near the resort at Udaipur like visiting the Saheliyon ki Baari, and the sublime lake Fateh Sagar with splendid views of the Aravalli mountain range.

There are many places to see in Udaipur, but we insist that you reserve one whole day for the City Palace. The City Palace was originally built in 1559 by Maharana Udai Singh and subsequently his successors have only added to its grandeur. The palace sits royally on the banks of Lake Pichola and is a beautiful medley of courtyards, terraces, hanging gardens, rooms, and corridors. The architecture boasts of Medieval, European, and Chinese influences apart from the dominant Indian Rajputana style.

The City Palace is a grand fusion of eleven splendid palaces which were built by different rulers at different times. Some of these exquisite palaces are Manek Mahal, Moti Mahal and Krishna Vilas. Each palace is a testament of the erstwhile regal era and is filled with treasures that give you a glimpse of the Rajputana glory.  Nestled in this mammoth regal splendour is the most beautiful temple of Rajasthan, the Jagdish temple. In 1974, a part of the City Palace and the ‘Zenana Mahal’ were transformed into a museum which is open to the public. Do make use of the earphones and listen to the stories behind each exhibit.  Be sure to wear comfortable footwear as you go up and down the museum.

With Club Mahindra, you can witness many such magnificent experiences across 100+ resorts in India and abroad! To know more about the City Palace experience, read the Club Mahindra member reviews.
